Salutations, Oh Lord, in the form of Surya (the Sun), the Lord of the beautiful Chaya (goddess of shadow).

Oh, illuminator of all infinite causes and effects in the world, the Lord of Simha rasi (Constellation Leo). One whose effulgent luster has been praised by those of the highest esteem, the bestower of benefits such as good health.
Symbol

Surya, the Sun god, rides a chariot that has one wheel and is pulled by seven horses. The seven horses represent the seven colors of the white light and the seven days of the week.
